Two Angolan literary works targeting preschoolers and children that were translated into Hebrew were launched on March 14 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The Angolan Ambassador in Israel, José João Manuel, said in Tel Aviv that CPLP, the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, is an important stage for the members States to develop and strengthen their assertion in the regional and international domains.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to the State of Israel, José João Manuel, said in Tel Aviv, that Angola today is a country undergoing patent growth which in turn, is bringing about the implementation of a variety national reconstruction programs, of social and economic development, of professional training and of the consolidation of democracy in the country.


Speaking before hundreds of guests on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Angola, Ambassador José João Manuel said that Angola is currently a politically stable and safe country where Angolans have opportunities to explore the vast natural resources that the country has to offer, creating economic and financial conditions that are going toward carrying the load of the nation's colossal development programs.


Regarding to the Ambassador’s speech, the  Angolan market continues to be open to all foreign investors interested in becoming involved in the country's development projects – particularly the construction of infrastructures, because private investment legislation endorses the opening of the Angolan market to businessmen from other countries with capital to invest, protects the investment and allows the repatriation of profits.  


The Official Reception to commemorate the November 11- Angola National Day -  was attended by about four hundred guests among them Israeli government's members, with prominence for Shalom Simhon, Minister of the Industry, Trade and Work and Minister for the Minorities Affairs, representatives of the Israeli civil society, members of the diplomatic corps and members of the Angolan community.



                                                                             


                                                                               





                                                                               

                                                                 

                                                                                           







ANGOLAN AMBASSADOR PRESIDE CPLP CULTURAL CEREMONY IN TEL AVIV


The Angolan Ambassador in Israel, José João Manuel, said in Tel Aviv that CPLP, the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, is an important stage for the members States to develop and strengthen their assertion in the regional and international domains.


While giving a speech in an CPLP event that celebrated the Portuguese Language and the CPLP Culture Day, the Ambassador of Angola, in the capacity of coordinator of the Ambassadors of the organization members in Israel, said that the concentration of positions in the political and diplomatic aspect by one hand, and in the cooperation development in various sectors on the other hand, demonstrates that the affinities that connect the CPLP countries go beyond the common language and the profound and historically interconnected culture.


The Ambassador of Angola in Israel made use of the occasion to make a brief summary of the main CPLP achievements during Angola rotating presidency that ends next July.


The CPLP event that celebrates the Portuguese Language and the CPLP Culture Day in Tel Aviv a joint organization of the Angola, Brazil and Portugal Embassies, was attended by more than two hundred guests, mostly members of the Lusophone Community and Israeli citizens.


The Portuguese music group, "Quarteto Yami", headed by the Portuguese Angolan born musician, Yami de Araújo, was the main attraction of the event.


The Embassies of Angola, Brazil and Portugal presented the guests with consumer products from their countries.



                                                                       















ANGOLAN LITERARY WORKS THAT HAVE BEEN TRANSLATED INTO HEBREW ARE LAUNCHED IN ISRAEL


Two Angolan literary works targeting preschoolers and children that were translated into Hebrew were launched on March 14 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The works are Jonito, Vovo Juju e o Arco-Íris [Jonito, Vovo Juju and the Rainbow] by Paula Russa, and As Duas Amigas [The Two Friends] by Cassia do Carmo.


The launching ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Angola in Israel,

José João Manuel, by diplomats of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission and by a delegation of the Union of Angolan Writers [UEA] headed by its Secretary General Dr. Carmo Neto and including authors Paula Russa, Kanguimbo Ananaz and Cassia do Carmo.


Also present at the event were members of the Angolan community, Brazilian and Portuguese diplomats and Israeli writers.


The launching of the books is part of a cooperation settlement between the Union of Angolan Writers and the Israeli publishing house Pierre L. Enterprises Ltd. that expressed its willingness to take part in a UEA project aimed at internationalizing Angolan literature.


The Embassy of the Republic of Angola in the State of Israel is participating in the project by sponsoring the translation costs.


During its stay in Israel the delegation of the Union of Angolan Writers was hosted by Mr. Nir Barkat, Mayor of the City of Jerusalem and by the Director of the African Department of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Avi Granot.
